Major Drug Bust in Cebu City Nets High-Value Targets
Operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 7, in coordination with the Cebu City Police Office, successfully apprehended two high-value drug targets during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Quiot, Cebu City. The operation, which took place at 10:40 PM on Thursday, November 13, 2025, resulted in the confiscation of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P340,000.
Operation Details and Suspects Identified
According to PDEA 7 Regional Director Joel Plaza, the arrested individuals were identified as alias Stelito, 35, the primary target of the operation, and his companion alias Glenn, 45. Both suspects are residents of Sitio Ubca 2, Barangay Quiot, where the operation was conducted.
Authorities recovered from the suspects one large package of suspected shabu weighing approximately 50 grams. The seized drugs carry an estimated average market value of P340,000, which includes the buy-bust money used in the operation.
Week-Long Surveillance Preceded Arrest
Leia Alcantara, PDEA 7 information officer, revealed that the agency had conducted one week of case buildup against the suspects following credible information received from a trusted source about their illegal drug activities. The thorough preparation and intelligence gathering contributed significantly to the operation's success.
The suspects now face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. This latest operation demonstrates the continued efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat the illegal drug trade in Central Visayas.
