Three Suspects Apprehended in Coordinated Sting
In a significant blow to illegal drug operations in Pampanga, three individuals were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Mabalacat City on Sunday evening, November 16. The successful raid was a joint effort by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Mabalacat City Police Station.
Seized Contraband and Suspects Identified
Authorities identified the arrested suspects only by their aliases. They are 'Pepe,' 37, who is believed to be the operator of the drug den; along with 'Mar,' 49; and 'Mimi,' 52. During the operation, law enforcement agents were able to confiscate approximately eight grams of shabu, with an estimated street value of P54,400.
The seized evidence was not limited to the illegal substance. Officials also recovered assorted drug paraphernalia and the marked money used in the undercover buy-bust operation.
Drug Den Dismantled, Charges Filed
The location where the trio was arrested was confirmed to be an active drug den. In a simultaneous action, the den was dismantled by the operating teams, effectively shutting down a known hub for illegal drug activities in the community.
The suspects now face serious legal consequences for their alleged actions. Charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, have been filed against them. This operation highlights the continued vigilance of combined forces from the provincial offices of PDEA Tarlac and Pampanga, working alongside local police to combat the drug trade.
