Operation Details and Arrests

The sting was conducted by operatives from the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) inside a subdivision located in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City. The operation was set in motion after one of the suspects sold a sachet of the illegal substance to an undercover police officer posing as a buyer at exactly 6:16 p.m.

Authorities successfully apprehended the two suspects identified as alias Ramyr, 53, a resident of Camella Subdivision in Barangay Mandalagan, and alias Anthony, 45, who hails from Purok Paraiso, Barangay Hilamonan in Kabankalan City.

Massive Drug Haul Recovered

Following the arrests, police conducted a search which led to the discovery of several plastic sachets containing the crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu. The total weight of the confiscated drugs was a staggering 1,300 grams.

Also recovered during the operation was the marked money used in the controlled buy-bust, providing crucial evidence for the case. The police assessment placed the total street value of the seized contraband at P8,840,000.

Suspects' Profiles and Charges

BCPO records classify both individuals as members of the notorious Bugalon Drug Group. One suspect is listed as a high-value drug personality, while the other is categorized as a street-level individual operating within Negros Occidental.

The two are currently detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3 in Bacolod. They are set to face serious charges for violations of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) under Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

This major seizure represents a critical victory for local law enforcement in their ongoing campaign to dismantle drug syndicates and curb the flow of illegal substances in the city and the wider region.
