Cebu Visitor Wins P288.6M Grand Lotto Jackpot

A stroke of immense fortune has struck a visitor from Cebu province, who is now P288.6 million richer after winning the solo jackpot prize of the Grand Lotto 6/55 draw. The life-changing win occurred on the evening of Saturday, January 3, 2026, as announced by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

Details of the Multi-Million Peso Win

The winning ticket, which held the lucky combination 13-42-06-45-24-33, was purchased from a lottery outlet located in the municipality of Compostela, Cebu. This single entry successfully matched all six numbers to claim the entire jackpot pool amounting to P288,616,075. According to PCSO General Manager Mel Robles, this marks the second time this month that a single bettor has won a major jackpot, following a P14.4 million Megalotto 6/45 win by a bettor from Sorsogon City just the previous Friday.

Other Winners and Prize Breakdown

While one lucky individual is set to receive the monumental top prize, dozens of other players also won significant amounts. The PCSO confirmed that 47 bettors correctly guessed five of the six winning numbers, earning P100,000 each. Furthermore, a total of 2,330 players won P1,500 for matching four numbers, and an additional 30,049 individuals will get P60 each for guessing three numbers correctly.

How to Claim the Jackpot Prize

All jackpot prizes must be claimed at the main PCSO office in Mandaluyong City. Under Republic Act 1169, winners have one full year from the draw date to come forward and collect their winnings. To facilitate the claim, winners are required to write their name and signature on the back of the winning ticket and present two valid government-issued identification cards.

It is important for winners to note that prizes exceeding P10,000 are subject to a 20 percent final tax under the TRAIN Law. This means a significant portion of the jackpot will be deducted before the winner receives their net prize.

Supporting Public Services Through Gaming

PCSO General Manager Mel Robles took the opportunity to encourage continued public support for their games. He emphasized that the revenue generated from lottery products is vital, as it helps fund crucial government programs. "The proceeds from these games are instrumental in financing various health programs, medical assistance initiatives, and other essential social services for the Filipino people," Robles stated.

This massive win in Cebu serves as a powerful reminder of the life-altering potential of the national lottery, while also highlighting its role in contributing to the nation's welfare and development.
