Former Rebel Chooses Path of Peace in Pampanga
In a significant development for local peace and order, a former member of a farmers' alliance has voluntarily surrendered to authorities in Pampanga. The Pampanga Provincial Police Office (PPO) confirmed that the event marks a positive step in its ongoing campaign to foster security through community engagement.
Coordinated Operation Leads to Peaceful Surrender
The surrender was successfully facilitated during a coordinated police operation on November 18, 2025, in Barangay Malauli, Masantol, Pampanga. At approximately 11:50 AM, the 62-year-old former member of the Alyansa ng mga Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luzon – Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (AMGL-KMP) personally appeared before the operating units.
He clearly expressed his intention to withdraw all support from the organization and symbolically turned over one hand grenade as a commitment to his decision. The operation was a collaborative effort led by the Pampanga 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), with crucial support from the police stations of Masantol, Macabebe, Minalin, Porac, and Floridablanca, as well as the 2nd PMFC.
Rebel Integration and Police Commitment
Following his surrender, the former rebel was placed under the custody of the Pampanga 1st PMFC. Demonstrating a holistic approach to reintegration, the police unit provided him with food packs and financial support to assist in his transition back to peaceful civilian life.
Colonel Eugene Marcelo, the Pampanga PPO director, emphasized the office's dedication, stating, "The Pampanga Police Provincial Office remains committed to promoting peace and security through lawful interventions and continuous collaboration with communities." This event underscores the effectiveness of combining law enforcement action with compassionate community-based programs to achieve lasting peace.
