Major Drug Bust Nets P4.4 Million in Illegal Substances

Authorities in Zamboanga Peninsula have successfully dismantled two drug operations, resulting in the arrest of four individuals and the confiscation of approximately P4.4 million worth of suspected shabu. The separate anti-drug operations occurred over the weekend in the cities of Dipolog and Zamboanga, marking a significant victory for regional law enforcement.

Radio Technician Arrested in Dipolog City Operation

A 50-year-old radio technician was apprehended during a buy-bust operation conducted around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, November 21. The arrest took place along Malvar Street in Miputak village, Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.

During the initial operation, police confiscated 200 grams of shabu valued at P1.3 million from the suspect. Following the arrest, radio station management discovered additional suspected illegal drugs inside the technician's room within the station premises.

Responding police officers recovered approximately 300 grams of suspected shabu worth over P2 million from the radio station location, significantly increasing the total value of seized substances from this single operation.

Three Suspects Captured in Zamboanga City Raid

In a separate operation conducted around 2:52 a.m. on Sunday, November 23, law enforcement arrested three additional suspects along Daisy Road in Guiwan village, Zamboanga City. The apprehended individuals, aged 38, 23, and 22, were found in possession of illegal drugs.

Police recovered 155 grams of suspected shabu valued at over P1 million during this operation. The suspects from the Zamboanga City operation were transported to Zamboanga City Police Station 5 for documentation and the filing of appropriate criminal charges.

Collaborative Law Enforcement Efforts

The successful operations demonstrated effective coordination between different law enforcement agencies. Police Regional Office (PRO) - Zamboanga Peninsula conducted both anti-drug missions with support from military intelligence operatives, highlighting the inter-agency cooperation in combating illegal drug activities in the region.

Authorities confirmed that two of the four arrested individuals are classified as high-value targets in the government's campaign against illegal drugs. The substantial seizure of P4.4 million worth of shabu represents a major disruption to local drug distribution networks operating within Zamboanga Peninsula.
