In a powerful display of law enforcement, the Police Regional Office 7 (PRO 7) has dealt a massive blow to criminality in Central Visayas, confiscating illegal drugs with an estimated street value of P73,509,972 in just one week.
Massive Haul and Hundreds of Arrests
The intensive operations, which ran from January 4 to 10, 2026, resulted in the arrest of 307 individuals involved in the illegal drug trade. Police successfully seized approximately 10,810.29 grams of suspected shabu from 178 of these drug personalities. This significant seizure is seen as a major step in curbing the spread of dangerous substances throughout the region.
Wanted Persons and Other Crimes Targeted
The crackdown was not limited to narcotics. PRO 7 also intensified its campaign against individuals with outstanding warrants. Authorities successfully apprehended 86 Wanted Persons facing various charges. Among them, 17 were classified as Most Wanted Persons (MWP), wanted for serious criminal offenses including murder, rape, robbery, and drug trafficking. An additional 69 individuals were arrested for other cases such as physical injury, theft, and estafa.
A Comprehensive Anti-Crime Campaign
The week-long initiative showcased a holistic approach to peace and order. Alongside the anti-drug and fugitive manhunt operations, police also conducted relentless campaigns against illegal firearms and illicit gambling activities. The synchronized efforts across Central Visayas demonstrate PRO 7's commitment to dismantling various criminal networks operating in the area.
