Major Drug Bust in Minglanilla Nets High-Value Target
Authorities from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7 and Philippine National Police scored a significant victory in their anti-drug campaign with the arrest of a regional target during a buy-bust operation in Minglanilla. The operation took place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at precisely 3:06 PM in Sityo San Vicente, Barangay Tunghaan.
Suspect and Seized Evidence
The apprehended individual, identified by PDEA-7 Director Joel Plaza as alias Christian, 28 years old, was described as a steelman and resident of the same area. During the operation, law enforcement agents recovered substantial evidence including:
- Seven packets of suspected shabu weighing 75.03 grams
- Estimated market value of P510,204
- Buy-bust money used in the operation
- One motorcycle
All confiscated evidence has been forwarded to the PDEA 7 Regional Office Laboratory for comprehensive chemical analysis to confirm the substance's composition and purity.
Background Investigation and Charges
According to Leia Alcantara, PDEA 7 information officer, the suspect had been under surveillance for two weeks during their case buildup phase. Intelligence indicated that the target could allegedly sell approximately 10 grams of shabu per week, marking him as a significant distributor in the region.
The suspect is currently detained at the PDEA 7 detention facility while authorities prepare charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. This successful operation demonstrates the continued vigilance of Philippine drug enforcement agencies in combating the illegal drug trade at the regional level.
