PDEA 7 Busts Cebu Drug Den, 3 Arrested

Agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA 7) have dismantled an active drug den in Cebu City, leading to the arrest of three individuals and the confiscation of a significant amount of suspected shabu.

Operation in Sityo Granada Nets Suspects

The successful anti-drug operation was conducted on the evening of Tuesday, January 13, 2026, in Sityo Granada, Barangay Quiot, Cebu City. The PDEA Regional Special Enforcement Team, in coordination with the Labangon Police Station, carried out the raid after a week of careful case buildup based on received complaints.

Authorities apprehended the alleged maintainer of the drug den, a 43-year-old man identified only by the alias "Jorge". Also arrested were two customers found inside the den: a 56-year-old taxi driver using the alias "Cesar" and a 42-year-old sidewalk vendor known as "Arniel". The operatives caught the two customers in the act of inhaling suspected shabu.

Substantial Evidence Recovered

During the search, operatives recovered substantial evidence from the scene. The haul included 18 packets of suspected shabu with an estimated total weight of 11 grams. The dangerous drugs have an estimated street value of P74,800.

In addition to the drug packets, agents also seized several items used in drug consumption and the operation. The evidence included:

  • Aluminum foil with shabu residue
  • Buy-bust money used in the operation
  • Other paraphernalia for inhaling drugs

According to Leia Alcantara, the information officer of PDEA 7, their investigation revealed that the alleged maintainer, Jorge, was capable of selling between 20 to 50 grams of shabu per week.

Charges and Custody

The three suspects are currently under the custody of PDEA 7 while agents prepare the necessary complaints against them. They will face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

This operation highlights the continued vigilance of law enforcement agencies in Central Visayas against the illegal drug trade, targeting both suppliers and users within local communities.
