PDEA Lapu-Lapu raids Gun-ob drug den, arrests 4

Operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Lapu-Lapu City successfully dismantled an active drug den in a targeted operation this week, leading to multiple arrests and the confiscation of illegal substances.

Operation Details and Arrests

The raid was conducted on Monday afternoon, January 5, 2026, at Purok Lemonsito in Barangay Gun-ob. The operation was the culmination of a week-long surveillance effort initiated after PDEA received a tip from a confidential informant.

Authorities apprehended four individuals during the bust. The primary target was a 29-year-old man known as Alyas Rimon, identified as the maintainer of the drug den. According to PDEA, Rimon was capable of selling between 10 to 15 grams of shabu per week.

Also arrested was Alyas Mykent, 38, a taxi driver described as Rimon's associate. It was revealed that Mykent was previously free under probation for a similar drug-related case.

Two other men were caught inside the den in the act of using shabu. They were identified as Alyas Joselito, 34, and Alyas Jose, 27, both working as linemen.

Evidence Seized and Case Filing

Agents seized substantial evidence from the scene. This included nine packets of suspected shabu with an estimated total weight of 6 grams. The illegal drugs have an estimated street value of Php 40,800.

Other items confiscated were the buy-bust money used in the operation and various drug paraphernalia used for consumption. All seized evidence has been forwarded to a laboratory for confirmatory testing.

Suspects in Custody Awaiting Charges

The four suspects are currently detained at the PDEA 7 custodial facility in Barangay Lahug. PDEA 7 spokesperson Leia Alcantara confirmed that appropriate cases for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against them.

This operation underscores the continued vigilance of anti-drug units in Central Visayas in combating the distribution and use of dangerous drugs at the community level.
