Priest Found Deceased in Cebu City Condominium
A Catholic priest who was involved in a child abuse controversy seven years ago was discovered dead with a severe neck injury on Wednesday morning, November 12, 2025. Fr. Decoroso "Cocoy" Olmilla of St. Therese Child of Jesus Parish was found inside a condominium unit in Mabolo, Cebu City.

According to police reports, officers responded to a distress call at 10:40 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. The call came from a 25-year-old woman who shared the condominium unit with the priest.
The woman told investigators she discovered Fr. Olmilla lying on the sofa with a deep wound to his neck and bleeding profusely. During questioning, she revealed that the priest had previously spoken about "ending his life" but admitted she "did not believe he meant it" at the time.
Mabolo Police Chief Maj. Eric Gingoyon confirmed that multiple angles are being examined in their investigation. At that time, Olmilla served as parish priest of Nativity of Mary Parish in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City. He faced accusations of physically and verbally abusing his cook's 15-year-old daughter after she failed to properly feed his dog.
