Western Visayas Police Honor Exemplary Personnel
The Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) celebrated outstanding achievements during its Monday Flag Raising and Awarding Ceremonies held on November 17, 2025. The event took place at Camp General Martin Teófilo B. Delgado in Fort San Pedro, Iloilo City, recognizing police personnel for their exceptional service to the community.
Distinguished Guests and Recognition
The ceremony featured Director Benjamin Florentino, Ceso IV, the newly installed director of the National Police Commission (Napolcom) in Western Visayas, who served as guest of honor and speaker. Florentino praised the awardees for their discipline, professionalism, and commitment to public safety during his address.
"My heartfelt congratulations on behalf of Napolcom Regional Office 6. Your achievements speak volumes of your bravery, professionalism, and relentless dedication to public safety," Florentino told the honorees.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, director of PRO 6, expressed gratitude to Director Florentino for attending on short notice and commended the award recipients for their outstanding performance and dedication to duty.
Notable Award Recipients and Achievements
Personnel from the Balasan Municipal Police Station of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office received the Medalya ng Kagalingan for a successful anti-drug operation conducted on October 26, 2025.
The recognized officers included Police Lieutenant Dionisio Fernandez Jr., who served as assistant team leader, and Police Senior Master Sergeant Eddie Mars Magbanua, the investigator-on-case. Their operation resulted in the arrest of a high-value individual and the seizure of 84.4338 grams of shabu.
Additional Medalya ng Kagalingan awards went to police officers from the Jordan Municipal Police Station of the Guimaras Police Provincial Office. Police Captain Kevin Kenz Bacongallo, acting as team leader and arresting officer, and Police Master Sergeant Bonnie Glen Carbolido, the warrant and subpoena officer, were honored for their operation on October 17, 2025.
This operation led to the capture of the second regional most wanted person facing charges for the crime of rape.
Strengthening Community Safety
The ceremony highlighted PRO 6's ongoing commitment to acknowledging exceptional police work throughout Western Visayas. The event aimed to encourage all personnel to maintain high standards in law enforcement and public service.
Attendees included members of the PRO 6 Command Group, regional staff, chiefs of National Support Units, Non-Uniformed Personnel, representatives from the Public Safety Mutual Benefit Fund Inc., and personnel assigned at the regional headquarters.
PRO 6 reaffirmed its dedication to strengthening both operational and administrative functions to ensure the continued safety of communities across the region.
