The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has not ruled out the possibility that Senator Ronald Dela Rosa may have already left the Philippines following his earlier departure from Senate custody. BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval stated that the agency remains open to the possibility that Dela Rosa used backdoor channels or hidden routes out of the country, such as remote ports.
Sandoval emphasized that the BI always considers this angle in similar situations. However, she assured that illegal migration corridors are closely monitored with the help of the Philippine National Police, the Philippine Coast Guard, and local government units. If any escape attempt is made, the BI is immediately alerted, including the identification of individuals intercepted, especially if they are foreigners.
According to the BI's official records, no departure from the country has been recorded for Senator Dela Rosa. This comes amid an existing Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order against the senator. Sandoval also assured that if Dela Rosa is spotted at airports, it will be immediately reported to law enforcement agencies for appropriate action.
