NBI Subpoenas 3 Vloggers Over Fake News on PBBM Health

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has subpoenaed three vloggers in connection with the alleged spread of fake news regarding the health of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The individuals identified as Rigondola Ping, Crage Anderpal, and Iloy Bugris are required to appear for investigation after releasing false statements, images, and graphics claiming the President's condition was critical.

Details of the Case

According to Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro, the complaint originated from the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) and was immediately forwarded to the NBI for thorough investigation. Based on the complaint, Bugris conducted a live broadcast asserting that the President was in serious condition. Ping allegedly edited photos to make it appear that Marcos was ill. Meanwhile, Anderpal shared graphics purportedly supporting the false information.

Government Stance

Malacañang emphasized that those spreading fake news will be held accountable for their actions. The PCO has also filed a separate case against a social media page that disseminated false information regarding the country's energy situation.
