Marcos Jr. Faces Corruption Allegations as Co's Video Statement Emerges
Marcos Jr. Corruption Allegations Intensify After Co Statement

President Marcos Jr. Accused of Leading Corruption Machinery

The Student Christian Movement of the Philippines has leveled serious corruption allegations against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., claiming he cannot distance himself from corruption claims despite presenting himself as an anti-corruption champion. The organization's national chairman, Kej Andres, made these statements in a November 17, 2025 publication.

The controversy intensified following the video statement of resigned Ako Bicol representative Zaldy Co, which allegedly reveals how President Marcos Jr. stands at the top of what the group calls the "corruption machinery." According to the student organization, Co's testimony strengthens their assertion that the President bears ultimate responsibility for corruption as the nation's chief executive.

Specific Allegations and Political Fallout

The Student Christian Movement argues that President Marcos Jr. cannot absolve himself of corruption allegations because he signed the General Appropriations Acts and allocated unprogrammed appropriations to select legislators. The group stated that unless the President admits to complete incompetence, he cannot escape responsibility for these actions.

While acknowledging the opportunism in Co's statements and the self-serving motives of the Duterte faction, the organization found merit in the resigned representative's revelations. They are demanding thorough investigation and accountability for President Marcos Jr., while also calling for similar accountability for Sara and Rodrigo Duterte, whom they want barred from returning to power.

Growing Public Dissent and Upcoming Mobilizations

The political tension comes amid growing public expressions of discontent, including during recent Iglesia Ni Cristo mobilizations where "Marcos, resign!" chants were reportedly heard. However, the student group criticized the Christian sect's leadership for lacking moral high ground due to their repeated endorsement of corrupt politicians during elections.

The organization also dismissed President Marcos Jr.'s recent anti-corruption drive as a cover-up designed to favor his political bloc over the Duterte faction. They characterized the current political situation as "Kadiliman versus Kasamaan" (Darkness versus Evil) with no winners for the Filipino people.

The group announced plans to participate in larger rallies scheduled for November 30, expressing their faith not in what they call the "bankrupt system" maintained by corrupt ruling classes, but in the people's capacity to create a new system free from bureaucrat-capitalism.
