Gayton McKenzie, South Africa's Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, expressed shock and sadness over the loss. “We are deeply shocked and saddened by this tragic event,” McKenzie said. “We hope the authorities will quickly determine the cause of death of the young football player.”
