International Boxing Federation (IBF) world minimumweight champion Pedro "Kid Heneral" Taduran is set to personally attend the "Fist of Fury 10 - The Eliminator" boxing event scheduled for May 9, 2026, at the New Cebu Coliseum. This announcement was made by sportsman Lorenzo "Chao" Sy, owner of Chao Sy International Promotions, who is organizing the highly anticipated promotion.
Scouting Mission for Title Eliminator
The reason for Taduran's visit to Cebu City is clear: he will be scouting the winner of the main event between Filipino boxer Ian Paul Abne from the Cebu-based ARQ Stable and China's Dianxing Zhu. This bout is an IBF title eliminator, meaning the victor will become the mandatory challenger for Taduran's championship belt.
Sy revealed that Taduran will be accompanied by his manager, Cucuy Elorde of the renowned Elorde Boxing Promotions. He further explained that initial discussions have taken place with Taduran's camp regarding a potential world title fight. If Abne emerges victorious, Sy plans to host the title bout in Cebu.
Promoter's Vision for Cebu Boxing Revival
"They seem okay with it, especially if the price is right. It would be great if Abne wins because if he loses, the fight between Taduran and the Chinese boxer might be held in China," stated Sy. Emphasizing his passion for boxing, Sy expressed his desire to revitalize the sport in Cebu by making tickets affordable to attract a larger audience.
"All the fights are excellent because that's what I want—hard-hitting matches. I've kept ticket prices low so many can watch. Boxing is my passion, so it's fine even if we incur a loss," Sy explained. Ticket prices are set at P100 for general admission, P300 for upper box, P500 for lower box, and P1,000 for ringside and sponsor seats.
Undercard Highlights and Additional Bouts
The undercard features several notable matches, including a Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) super flyweight title clash between John Paul Gabunilas of Chao Sy Boxing Stable and Ramil Roda from Omega Boxing Gym. Additionally, a World Boxing Federation (WBF) silver flyweight title bout between Jemuel Aranas and Jeric Noynay is scheduled.
In total, eight more fights will be showcased, marking the return of boxing to the New Cebu Coliseum. This event promises to deliver thrilling action and could set the stage for a future world title fight in the region.
