Rising boxing star Arlando Senoc gets his first shot at regional glory when he faces Jeric Noynay for the vacant World Boxing Organization Youth flyweight championship on December 21, 2025. The highly anticipated bout will take place in the City of Naga, Cebu, marking a significant milestone for both fighters.
Family Rivalry Adds Spice to Championship Clash
This isn't the first time Senoc has encountered the Noynay family in the ring. Earlier this year, Senoc delivered a stunning first-round knockout against Eugene Noynay, Jeric's older brother, during their match in Toledo City. This history adds an extra layer of intensity to the upcoming championship fight.
Senoc's trainer, Christopher "Ping-Ping" Tepora, recognizes the significance of this opportunity. "This is Senoc's chance to break into the world rankings," Tepora told SunStar Cebu. "However, his opponent isn't a pushover. He's good, and he also wants to avenge his brother's loss."
Intense Training Camp Underway
The Big Yellow Boxing Gym has become a hub of activity as Senoc prepares for what could be the most important fight of his young career. Senoc has been sparring with teammates Carlo Demecillo, Reycar Auxilio, Farms Valdez, and Dominic Ledres to sharpen his skills for the championship bout.
"We are focused on our training now," said Tepora, who heads the Big Yellow Boxing Gym. "We will really prepare well for this fight. Yes, Senoc is ready for the next level, but we still have a lot to improve on like his footwork and combinations. He already has the power but needs to work on setting it up."
Contrasting Records and Career Paths
The statistics tell an interesting story about both fighters. Senoc maintains a perfect professional record of 7-0 with six knockouts, demonstrating his punching power and undefeated status since turning pro in 2023. The 22-year-old has shown remarkable development, evolving from a raw brawler into a more complete fighter during his first two years in the professional ranks.
Meanwhile, Jeric Noynay holds a record of 5-1 with one knockout. The 24-year-old also began his professional journey in 2023 and started strong with four consecutive victories. However, he experienced his first career defeat earlier this year, losing to John Ver Espra by split decision in a Philippine Boxing Federation light-flyweight title bout.
Tepora expressed gratitude to their management team, stating: "They never hesitate to support our boxers and give them regional title fights. Here at Big Yellow, our goal is to give every boxer, regardless of talent or skill, an opportunity to fight for a regional title. For us, this is our way of helping them reach their dreams of becoming champions."
As fight night approaches, both fighters understand that the WBO Youth flyweight championship represents more than just a title—it's a gateway to international recognition and higher world rankings in the competitive flyweight division.
