Filipina Gymnast Jasmine Althea Ramilo Set for 2026 World Challenge Cup in Portugal

Italy-based Filipina gymnast Jasmine Althea Ramilo is poised to represent the Philippines at the prestigious 2026 FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup. The event will take place in Portimao, Portugal from May 15 to 17, marking a significant moment for Philippine sports on the global stage.

Rigorous Preparations and Recent Competitions

As the sole Filipina representative, Ramilo has been undergoing intense training under the guidance of Coach Claudia Mancinelli. Her mother, Fhey, shared insights into her journey, noting that Ramilo has been "pagod (tired) but contended" after representing the Philippines in recent events across Europe and Asia.

In preparation for the World Challenge Cup, Ramilo participated in several key competitions. At the Grand Prix Marbella on March 21-22, she achieved an 18th place overall in the Individual All-Around, with a total score of 100.650 points. Her performance included scores of 26.750 in Hoop, 22.750 in Ball, 25.050 in Clubs, and 26.100 in Ribbon.

She also competed in the World Cup Sofia from March 28-30 and the World Cup Tashkent on April 10-12. In Tashkent, she secured 39th place with a total score of 95.90, with breakdowns of 23.50 in Hoop, 25.00 in Ball, 25.15 in Clubs, and 22.25 in Ribbon.
