BC Baby Cheetahs Dominate in Cesafi 15-U Basketball

The Benedicto College (BC) Baby Cheetahs delivered a commanding performance on Thursday, January 8, 2026, decisively beating the Don Bosco Greywolves with a final score of 74-54. The match was part of the second-day action in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (Cesafi) 15-and-under basketball tournament, held at the University of San Carlos (USC) gym on Sanciangko Street in Cebu City.

Early Tournament Leaders Emerge

With this victory, the Baby Cheetahs secured their place among the teams that seized an early lead in the tournament. The league's schedule had faced delays due to calamities that struck Cebu in the previous year, making this strong start crucial. From the very first quarter, the Baby Cheetahs controlled the game's tempo and maintained their dominance until the final buzzer.

This win elevated the Baby Cheetahs to an undefeated 2-0 record. They now sit atop the early standings alongside the defending champions University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers, the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons, and the newcomer Cebu Institute of Technology–University (CIT-U) Baby Wildcats, who all also posted wins on the same day.

Other Decisive Matches from Day Two

The competition was fierce across the board. The UV Baby Lancers managed to fend off a challenge from the Sacred Heart School–Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles, securing a 67-58 victory. Meanwhile, the CEC Dragons showcased their offensive firepower by overwhelming the USC Baby Warriors 73-52.

Not to be outdone, the league's new entrants, the CIT-U Baby Wildcats, made a powerful statement by defeating the University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJ-R) Baby Jaguars 68-55. This collective success by the top teams sets the stage for an intensely competitive season as the Cesafi 15-and-under tournament continues its delayed but highly anticipated run.
