A young athlete from Davao is making waves in Philippine gymnastics. Ten-year-old Abigail Morrison is celebrating a stellar performance at the recent Batang Pinoy 2025, where she clinched an impressive haul of three gold medals and one silver medal.

A Rising Star's Ambitious Vision for 2026

Far from resting on her laurels, the Grade 5 student from Heartworks Learning Center is already setting her sights on greater challenges. Abigail aims to compete and excel at two major events in 2026: the Davraa Meet and the prestigious Palarong Pambansa. Her goal is not just to participate but to perform at a higher level, mastering more complex skills and strengthening her mental and physical resilience.

"In 2026, I hope to perform well and win," Abigail shared. She expressed her desire to learn advanced gymnastics elements, grow stronger, and continue developing as an athlete through discipline, faith, and an unwavering passion for the sport.

The Foundation of Success: Training and Support

Morrison credits her rigorous training at the School of Champions (SOC) Gymnastics Davao as a pivotal factor in her development. The dedicated training environment has been instrumental in building her agility, strength, and competitive mindset.

Her achievements in 2025 are a testament to her hard work. Prior to her Batang Pinoy success, she dominated the Davao City Athletic Association (Dcaa) Meet, winning five gold medals and one silver. These victories collectively helped elevate Davao's standing in the national gymnastics scene.

For Abigail, success is a team effort. She is profoundly grateful for her support system. "I am most grateful for my family and friends who supported me throughout 2025," she stated in an interview. She highlighted that the establishment of their own SOC Gymnastics gym was a major boost, providing the consistent training ground needed to secure gold medals.

A Memorable Victory and a Faith-Driven Journey

The Batang Pinoy 2025 competition holds a special place in her young career. Winning three golds and one silver was a personal triumph, but she also cherishes the moment Davao was recognized as a national champion. Morrison views her journey as one guided by faith, stating, "I thank the Lord for guiding me, strengthening my faith, and giving me the courage and determination to pursue gymnastics."

With a solid foundation of talent, a relentless work ethic, and a strong circle of support, Abigail Morrison is poised to make 2026 a truly breakout year as she steps onto larger stages, carrying the hopes of her city and region with her.
