New BSP-Davao de Oro Council Assumes Office

The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) in Davao de Oro has officially welcomed its new set of leaders. The freshly appointed members of the Local Council Executive Board (LCEB) formally took their oaths and assumed their positions on January 19, 2026.

A Ceremony of Transition and Commitment

The significant turnover event was held at the activity hall of the Provincial Capitol in Nabunturan. Presiding over the oath-taking was Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Gleen Blair Carnicer, who administered the pledges that marked the official start of the new board's term. The ceremony included the symbolic turnover of documents from the outgoing council to the incoming leadership, ensuring a smooth transition of responsibilities.

Governor at the Helm

Leading the new council as its Chairperson is Davao de Oro Governor Raul “RM” Mabanglo. He took his oath alongside other provincial officials who will comprise the new executive board. In his acceptance speech, Governor Mabanglo laid out a clear vision for the council's future, emphasizing a strong commitment to steering the organization towards more impactful programs for the youth.

Focus on Unlocking Youth Potential

Governor Mabanglo underscored the critical role of the BSP in molding the character and capabilities of the younger generation. He highlighted the organization's mission to nurture discipline, leadership, and civic responsibility among scouts. The governor's message centered on empowerment and guidance, rather than limitation.

He articulated this philosophy in his speech, stating, “We should not limit our youth. Whatever is meant for them, whatever is for their good, we will guide them properly.” This statement reflects the new leadership's intent to provide meaningful opportunities and shape values that will prepare young people in Davao de Oro for future challenges.

The new LCEB under Governor Mabanglo's chairmanship has pledged to take its duties seriously. The board aims to strengthen the council's direction and ensure its activities and programs remain sharply focused on the holistic development of the province's youth, guiding them towards becoming responsible and proactive citizens.
