The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 7 has begun distributing 709 tablets to City and Municipal Links of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) across Central Visayas. This initiative is part of the 4Ps System Reengineering Initiative, which aims to enhance data management, improve service delivery, and support the digital transformation of the program for more efficient and faster service to beneficiaries.
Distribution Launch
DSWD 7 Regional Director Shalaine Marie S. Lucero joined the first phase of the distribution on May 28, 2026, together with City and Municipal Links who oversee program implementation in their respective areas. The tablets will enable frontline workers to update beneficiary information in real time, record compliance data, and validate records without relying on paper-based systems. This is expected to reduce errors and delays in data processing while improving transparency and accountability in service delivery.
Initial Batch Coverage
The first batch of distribution reached City and Municipal Links in Cebu City, Talisay City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and Cordova. The distribution team also visited towns on Bantayan Island, including Bantayan, Santa Fe, and Madridejos, to ensure that Municipal Links in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs) receive the necessary digital tools.
After the distribution, recipients attended an orientation on various 4Ps applications and digital platforms to maximize the use of the tablets in their daily work.
Ongoing Distribution
According to DSWD 7, the distribution will continue weekly until all 709 units are delivered to City and Municipal Links in the region. Through digital innovation and stronger field operations, DSWD continues to improve social protection services for Filipino families in Central Visayas.
