Two minor students were found in possession of a firearm and a bladed weapon inside a school in Aparri, Cagayan, on Friday morning, June 26. The discovery was made during a routine security inspection conducted by personnel from the 1st Mobile Force Platoon of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company at the Aparri School of Arts and Trade.
Security Inspection Leads to Discovery
Authorities were inspecting the bags of several students when they uncovered a homemade caliber .38 gun and a kitchen knife belonging to two male students. The suspects, a 15-year-old Grade 10 student and a 14-year-old Grade 8 student, allegedly attempted to cut classes with another student before being apprehended.
Students Admit Personal Grudge as Motive
According to the police, the students admitted that they brought the weapons due to a personal conflict. The 15-year-old was found with the homemade gun, while the 14-year-old had a kitchen knife inside his bag. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the full details of the incident and whether additional charges may be filed against those involved.
