The Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) has announced the signing of two significant memoranda of understanding (MOUs) on February 24, 2026, at the Clark Aviation Capital Picnic Grounds. These agreements involve the Philippine Association of Landscape Architects (PALA) and South Korea-based Future iNet Co., Ltd. (FIN), marking a pivotal moment in the airport's development strategy.
Urban Renewal and Heritage Conservation Program
The MOU with PALA is designed to support the Urban Renewal and Heritage Conservation Program, a comprehensive initiative that seeks to modernize Clark while preserving its rich cultural and historical identity. This partnership will establish a unified and sustainable landscaping and environmental framework, ensuring that growth does not come at the expense of heritage. By integrating green spaces and eco-friendly designs, the program aims to create a balanced urban environment that respects the past while embracing the future.
Technological Advancements for the Clark National Food Hub
In parallel, the agreement with FIN focuses on technological studies for the Cold Chain Bonded Logistics Depot, a critical component of the Clark National Food Hub. This project is intended to revolutionize food logistics by reducing spoilage and enhancing supply reliability through advanced temperature control, inventory management, and customs supervision. The collaboration with FIN will leverage cutting-edge technology to optimize these processes, making the food hub more efficient and resilient.
Benefits for Stakeholders
CIAC President Jojit Alcazar emphasized that these partnerships are key steps toward advancing both the Urban Renewal and Heritage Conservation Program and the Clark National Food Hub Project. The initiatives are expected to deliver substantial benefits across multiple sectors. Farmers stand to gain from reduced post-harvest losses and improved market access, while businesses will benefit from more efficient logistics operations. Consumers, in turn, can look forward to a more stable and safer food supply, contributing to overall food security in the region.
Strategic Vision for Clark
These MOUs are part of CIAC's broader strategy to position Clark as a sustainable aviation and logistics hub that promotes economic growth, food security, and heritage preservation. By fostering such collaborations, CIAC aims to create a model for integrated development that balances modernization with sustainability. The state-owned firm is committed to driving progress that not only boosts the local economy but also safeguards cultural assets for future generations.
The signing of these agreements underscores CIAC's proactive approach to addressing contemporary challenges through innovative partnerships. As these projects move forward, they are poised to set new standards in urban planning and food logistics, reinforcing Clark's role as a key player in the Philippines' economic landscape.
