Cash Donations Urged for Mindanao Quake Victims

The 10th Infantry (Agila) Division swiftly mobilized its Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response units following a magnitude 7.0 earthquake that struck parts of Mindanao on Monday, June 8, 2026. PDRRMO Recommends Cash Donations

Dennis Pastor, head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), has advised prioritizing cash donations for victims. He explained that cash allows affected individuals to purchase food and other essential items according to their immediate needs. This recommendation comes as various donation drives and groups plan to deliver assistance to the impacted regions.

Safety Concerns Due to Aftershocks

Pastor highlighted that traveling to areas still experiencing aftershocks remains unsafe, drawing parallels to the Cebu earthquake from the previous year. He urged donors to coordinate with the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in affected areas to receive proper guidance on how to send contributions effectively.
