The number of casualties from the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck parts of Mindanao on June 8, 2026, has increased. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), the reported death toll has reached 55. The number of injured has also risen to 1,120 after verification. Meanwhile, 31 individuals remain missing based on family reports and testimonies. The NDRRMC advises the public to remain prepared for aftershocks, which have exceeded 3,000 since Monday.
