UAE Sends Aid to Mindanao Quake Victims, 47 Dead

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has sent immediate aid to communities affected by the strong earthquake in Mindanao. Their shipments include food, relief goods, and support for the affected areas in Mindanao. The emergency humanitarian response aims to provide rapid recovery for residents in the region.

Official Statement

“This urgent UAE response stems from the country’s international responsibility toward communities and peoples facing natural disasters and crises,” said Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, chairman of the UAE Aid Agency. The official added that this step is part of their assistance to countries affected by calamities such as the Philippines.

Earthquake Impact

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the death toll has reached 47, with over 688 injured and thousands of residents left homeless due to the earthquake that struck near Sarangani province on June 8.

International Support

Various countries have also expressed condolences and support, including the United States, Japan, China, Australia, Germany, France, New Zealand, Israel, Russia, and Ukraine. UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan earlier sent a message of sympathy to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., assuring continued support for the Philippines.
