Mandaue SWAT Officer Injured in Hit-and-Run

A police officer from the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit of the Mandaue City Police Office was injured in a hit-and-run incident early Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Cebu City.

Incident Details

The accident occurred at approximately 12:07 a.m. in Sityo Agpasan, Barangay Mabini, a mountainous area of Cebu City. The victim, Police Corporal Jemar Nodado Solamillo, 30, a resident of Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City, was riding his Honda Click motorcycle (plate number 615 GBE) heading toward Talamban.

Upon reaching a curved and steep section of the road in Sityo Agpasan, another motorcycle swerved into his lane and collided with him. The impact caused both motorcycles to fall, and Solamillo was thrown off his bike toward a ravine. Fortunately, he was caught by a tree branch, preventing a more severe fall.

Suspect Flees Scene

After the collision, the driver of the other motorcycle immediately fled the scene. Solamillo was rescued by a relative who happened to be passing by on a motorcycle and was rushed to North General Hospital.

Due to the force of the impact, Solamillo suffered a broken left leg and is scheduled for surgery. He remains hospitalized.

Investigation Ongoing

The Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) of the Cebu City Police Office is continuing its investigation to identify the hit-and-run driver. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
