Security Guard Arrested in Iloilo Drug Bust

ILOILO – Operatives of the San Joaquin Municipal Police Station (MPS) arrested a security guard during a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Siwaragan, San Joaquin, Iloilo on April 21, 2026.

Details of the Operation

The operation took place at 3:21 p.m. and led to the seizure of approximately 55 grams of suspected shabu, valued at PHP 374,000. The suspect, identified only as alias Geo, 54, is a resident of Barangay Bucaya, San Joaquin, Iloilo. He is currently under the custody of the San Joaquin MPS.

Items Seized

Authorities confiscated the following items from the suspect:

  • Three transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu
  • Marked buy-bust money
  • A black Honda PCX 160 motorcycle
  • Other non-drug items

Charges Filed

Police officials stated that the suspect will face charges for violating Section 5 and Section 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, regional director of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO 6), commended the San Joaquin MPS for their accomplishment. He emphasized that PRO 6 will continue to intensify its campaign against illegal drugs and criminal activities. Ligan also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their communities.
