San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is uncertain to play in Game 3 of their Western Conference first round series against the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday, April 26, 2026 (Philippine time) at the Moda Center.
The 7-foot-4 center suffered a facial injury during the second quarter of the Spurs' 103-106 loss in Game 2, tying the series at 1-1. He was hit in the face and subsequently entered the NBA's concussion protocol.
Despite the injury, Wembanyama traveled with the team to Portland. Spurs head coach Mitch Johnson provided an update: "He's looking good. The update is that he is following each protocol and he is progressing."
The Spurs' medical staff will continue to evaluate Wembanyama, who recently received the Defensive Player of the Year award, to determine if he is cleared to play.
Whether or not Wembanyama suits up, the rest of the Spurs roster will need to step up to counter the momentum gained by the Trail Blazers after their Game 2 victory. The series continues with Game 3 in Portland.
