Pampanga Museum to Launch Felix Galura Exhibit for National Arts Month 2026

The Diosdado P. Macapagal Museum (DPMM), located at Pampanga State University (PSU), is set to inaugurate a new mini changing exhibit on February 20, 2026. Titled "X Marks the Maker: The X Legacies of Felix N. Galura," this display will be hosted at the DPMM Gallery and is timed to coincide with National Arts Month 2026. The exhibit serves as a tribute to the 160th birth anniversary of Felix N. Galura, celebrating his multifaceted contributions to Philippine society.

Honoring a Cultural Icon

Felix N. Galura is recognized as a patriot, literary reformer, translator, and grammarian, with his work having a profound and lasting impact on Kapampangan culture. The exhibit, under the theme "Where Pen, Sword, and Language Meet," will delve into his legacies, exploring his pivotal role in shaping Philippine literary and cultural history. It aims to provide visitors with an in-depth look at how Galura's efforts bridged artistic expression and social advocacy.

Event Highlights and Collaborations

The opening program will feature "Ambúla," an environmental advocacy initiative led by the Kapampangan History Club. Additionally, a lecture will be presented by Joel Pabustan Mallari, who serves as a DPMM consultant and board member of KATATAGAN, Inc. This event is organized by the DPMM in partnership with KATATAGAN, Inc. and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), ensuring a collaborative effort to promote cultural appreciation.
