In the transformative period following the historic EDSA Revolution, a dedicated group of civic volunteers stepped forward to ensure the continuity of local governance in Cebu. As politicians redirected their focus toward campaigning, these individuals took on crucial roles to maintain city operations. This collective effort laid the groundwork for what would become the WeCare Foundation, an organization with deep roots in community service and leadership.
Founding Leadership and Early Contributions
The foundation was spearheaded by Antonio Veloso, who served as the acting mayor during this critical time. He was supported by Joseph Gaisano as the acting vice mayor. A team of acting councilors, including notable figures such as Ed Rosello, Hermie Villarica, Bonnie Degamo, Roberto Montesclaros, Lito Roden, Remy Mateo, Nene Dakay, and MCE, played instrumental roles. Today, the WeCare Foundation is under the guidance of its current president, Ramon Sebastian.
