Acting PNP Chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. has directed all police units to intensify visibility and proactive responses in areas of convergence, particularly learning institutions and busy public spaces. The security alert follows a wave of bomb threats that disrupted normal activities in several regions. On November 17, eight schools in Iloilo and another educational institution in Digos City, Davao del Sur received threatening messages, forcing evacuations and class suspensions.
The situation escalated over the weekend when a village in Ormoc City, Leyte also became a target of similar threats. These consecutive incidents have prompted serious concern among authorities and the general public alike.

General Nartatez has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the string of threatening incidents. "Ipinag-utos ko na ang malalimang imbestigasyon ukol dito dahil sunod-sunod na may nangyayaring ganito sa mga paaralan," he emphasized.
The PNP aims to uncover the source of these messages and ensure those responsible are held accountable for their actions. Despite the disruptions caused by these threats, Nartatez confirmed that police units nationwide remain fully prepared to respond to any emergency situation.
