Retired Rear Admiral Trinidad Stays as AFP Spokesperson for WPS Issues
RAdm Trinidad Remains AFP Spokesperson for WPS

Retired Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad will remain as the spokesperson of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for matters concerning the West Philippine Sea. In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Trinidad confirmed that he immediately received orders from the AFP to stay on as special spokesperson despite his retirement from the Philippine Navy.

Retirement and Continued Service

The two-star general retired last week, coinciding with his 57th birthday. According to Trinidad, he will continue to serve as a reservist to ensure that the Philippines' message regarding the disputed waters is conveyed to the world. He has been one of the most vocal figures against China's propaganda in the West Philippine Sea and has also served as a fake news buster to assert the rights of the Philippines and its people.

Previous Roles and Ongoing Commitment

Before becoming the AFP spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea, Trinidad served as the Inspector General of the Philippine Navy. He also assured continuous focus on WPS issues, including the recent AFP analysis results on recovered yellow bottles from Chinese fishing boats. According to Trinidad, although China does not accept these findings, the Philippine government has sufficient evidence to support its claims, proving that everything the Philippines says is based on facts.
