A shocking incident of violence erupted inside the Philippine National Police (PNP) national headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City, when a police officer under restrictive custody allegedly stabbed a fellow officer on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
Attack in the Camp Crame Kitchen
The assault occurred in the kitchen area of the headquarters. According to a report from the Anti-Organized Crime Unit, the victim had entered the kitchen to prepare breakfast. The suspect followed him into the dining area and, without warning, pulled out a knife and attacked.
The victim attempted to restrain the suspect by grappling with him, but was instead stabbed in the wrist. He was rushed to the PNP General Hospital (PNPGH) for emergency treatment. He remains under observation due to significant blood loss from the wound.
Suspect and Victim Linked to Multi-Million Peso Theft Case
Both the suspect and the victim were among a group of police personnel placed under restrictive custody in December 2025. This disciplinary action was connected to allegations of stealing P13 million in cash evidence. The money was seized from an illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (Pogo) in Bagac, Bataan, back in 2024.
Investigators noted that the suspect's behavior had changed abruptly just before the stabbing incident. The attack happened as they were preparing for a scheduled preliminary investigation at the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office.
Ongoing Criminal and Administrative Investigations
The suspect is now detained, facing both criminal charges for the assault and a parallel administrative investigation by the PNP. The case adds a severe layer of misconduct to the already serious theft allegations facing the involved officers.
This violent episode inside the heart of the national police force raises serious concerns about discipline and conduct among personnel, especially those already facing grave administrative charges.
