Former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson was arrested by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Thursday, June 11, 2026, on charges of cyber libel. He immediately posted bail and was released.
The arrest was based on a warrant issued by Branch 21 of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) of Vigan City, citing a violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. Singson was apprehended at his residence in Barangay Ugong Norte, Quezon City.
He posted the required bail of P60,000 and was released from the custody of QCPD Police Station 12.
