New Evidence vs VP Sara Duterte on Undeclared Assets in SALN
New Evidence vs VP Sara Duterte on Undeclared Assets

House prosecutor and Bicol Saro Partylist Representative Terry Ridon announced that they have new evidence against Vice President Sara Duterte regarding properties owned by her and her husband that were allegedly not declared in their Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) from 2007 to 2024.

During the launch of 'Bantay Impeachment' at Claret School, Ridon stated that these properties are recorded in government agencies but did not appear in the Vice President's SALN submissions. The new evidence will be used to prove the complaint of 'unexplained wealth,' one of four charges faced by Duterte.

Ridon explained that these documents were not presented in previous House hearings, making them entirely new. They will be formally included in the pretrial brief to be submitted to the Senate next week. He also noted that no law prohibits the prosecution from introducing new evidence before the pretrial stage ends.

Ridon praised fellow House Prosecutor Joel Chua for discovering the new evidence. Aside from unexplained wealth, VP Duterte also faces complaints of corruption, misuse of public funds, and threats against high-ranking government officials.
