A violent altercation that began with a simple argument over illegal parking resulted in the tragic death of a farmer in Alcantara, Cebu. The incident, which occurred on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 7, 2026, has left the community in shock and led to a murder charge against the assailant.
Deadly Altercation in Barangay Cabadiangan
The victim was identified as Elegio Incodido Ejalon, 47, a farmer and resident of Barangay Manga in the same town. The suspect is Fernan Ursal Toledo, 40, who worked as a tourist guide. According to the official report from Police Captain Grant Serafin Petalio V, chief of the Alcantara Police Station, the fatal encounter started when Toledo, who was visibly drunk, arrived on his motorcycle and parked it in the middle of the road in Barangay Cabadiangan.
Ejalon, who was also drinking with friends at the time, confronted Toledo about his dangerous parking. This reprimand angered the intoxicated guide, sparking a heated argument between the two men. As Ejalon walked away from the confrontation, Toledo followed him, and the verbal clash quickly escalated into a physical fight.
Sustained Assault Leads to Fatal Injuries
During the brawl, Ejalon was overpowered and fell to the ground. Witnesses reported that even after the farmer lost consciousness and bystanders attempted to intervene, Toledo did not stop his attack. He continued to relentlessly punch Ejalon in the head.
