A significant boost to police manpower in the Soccsksargen Region was achieved as 320 new patrolmen and patrolwomen formally entered the service in a ceremony held on Friday, December 19.
Ceremony at Regional Headquarters
The oath-taking event took place at Camp General Paulino T. Santos in Tambler village, General Santos City, which serves as the headquarters for the Police Regional Office-12 (PRO-12). The new officers were sworn in under the supervision of Police Brigadier General Arnold Ardiente, the regional director of PRO-12.
Composition and Recruitment Program
The inductees are part of the 2025 Patrolman/Patrolwoman Attrition and Regular Quota Recruitment Program. The group is composed of 237 male and 83 female recruits, all hailing from various provinces and cities within the Soccsksargen Region.
In terms of recruitment quotas, 300 of the new officers were accepted under the Attrition Quota, while 20 were taken in under the Regular Quota. This influx of personnel is aimed at substantially strengthening the operational capability of the PRO-12 force.
A Lifelong Commitment to Service
During the ceremony, Brigadier General Ardiente addressed the recruits, marking their formal transition into active police duty. He emphasized that the oath signifies more than just a job; it is a lifelong commitment to public service.
“By taking this oath, you are now recognized not merely as law enforcers, but as public servants,” Ardiente stated. He instructed them that their primary duty is to serve the people with integrity, professionalism, and respect for human rights.
He further reminded the new officers that police authority must always be exercised with restraint, accountability, and compassion, underscoring that public trust is the foundation of effective policing. The ceremony formally marks their acceptance of the grave responsibilities entrusted to every member of the Philippine National Police.
