Police Apprehend Aklan's Most Wanted Fugitives

In a significant breakthrough for regional law enforcement, the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) successfully captured two of Aklan's most dangerous fugitives during coordinated operations on November 27, 2025. The separate arrests targeted individuals ranked as the province's first and third most wanted persons, marking a major victory in PRO 6's intensified campaign against wanted criminals.

Detailed Account of the Arrest Operations

The first operation unfolded in Barangay Manhanip, Malinao, where police apprehended a suspect known as alias Leo at approximately 12:45 p.m.. This 26-year-old man, who resides in the same barangay, held the distinction of being Aklan's first most wanted person. Authorities from the Banga Municipal Police Station (MPS), with crucial support from the Aklan Police Provincial Office (Akppo) Tracker Team, executed the arrest warrant charging him with four counts of statutory rape under Republic Act 11648. The court had recommended no bail for his alleged crimes.

Later that evening at around 9:11 p.m., a second operation in Barangay Poblacion, New Washington resulted in the capture of alias Jon. The 19-year-old construction worker, residing in Sitio Riverside of the same barangay, was identified as Aklan's third most wanted person. The New Washington MPS served his arrest warrant for statutory rape under RA 11648, another case where the court denied bail options.

Police Leadership Commends Successful Operations

Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, the regional director of PRO 6, praised the operating teams for their effective coordination and swift action. "The successful apprehension of these high-value wanted persons underscores PRO 6's unwavering commitment to protect the vulnerable, uphold justice, and maintain peace and order across Western Visayas," Ligan stated.

The police official emphasized the importance of community support in law enforcement successes, adding: "We extend our gratitude to the community for supporting law enforcement efforts. PRO 6 remains steadfast in pursuing offenders and ensuring that the rule of law prevails."

Both suspects currently remain in the custody of their respective municipal police stations where authorities are completing documentation and processing procedures. The individuals will subsequently be presented before the court for proper legal disposition, moving these serious cases forward in the justice system.
