Armed Robber Arrested in Mambaling Police Operation

An armed man identified as a notorious robber was arrested by members of the Mambaling Police Station at around 9:35 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Sitio Kahuyan, Barangay Mambaling. The suspect is believed to be responsible for the robbery along C. Padilla Street the previous week.

Suspect Identified

The arrested individual was identified as Jovanny Pebida Pahugot, 44, a resident of the same area. Police recovered from him a .45 caliber Colt Officer's pistol with two bullets.

Police Response

According to the investigation by the Mambaling Police Station, they received a phone call reporting a man carrying a firearm. When the police responded, they found the suspect with the weapon tucked into his waist. When asked for documentation, the suspect failed to produce a license for the firearm, leading to his arrest.

Charges Filed

Pahugot now faces charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

The chief of the Cebu City Police Office, Police Colonel George Ylanan, urged the public, especially those who have been victims of the suspect's robberies, to go to the police station to file cases. Ylanan warned notorious robbers that the police will not stop pursuing them.
