The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) has released a formidable report on its anti-drug campaign for the year 2025, showcasing significant strides in the fight against illegal substances. From January 1 to November 30, police operations led to the arrest of 873 drug personalities and the confiscation of a massive quantity of narcotics.
Major Drug Hauls and Arrest Statistics
During the 11-month period, ICPO conducted a total of 662 anti-drug operations. These efforts resulted in the seizure of an estimated 26,299.1568 grams of shabu (methamphetamine) and 1,679.1566 grams of marijuana. The sheer volume of shabu alone represents a street value worth tens of millions of pesos, dealing a substantial blow to local drug networks.
The breakdown of the 873 individuals arrested reveals a targeted approach. The arrests included 261 high-value individuals (HVIs), 573 street-level individuals (SLIs), 20 wanted persons, 14 minors, and five unlisted personalities. This indicates operations aimed at both the supply chain and retail distribution.
Top-Performing Police Units
Among the various units, the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) stood out with the highest number of arrests at 120. They were closely followed by Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 4 with 118 arrests, and ICPS 2 with 83 arrests.
In terms of the value and volume of drugs recovered, CDEU also led the haul. This unit confiscated 8,736.4613 grams of shabu, valued at a staggering P59,407,936.84. Other significant recoveries were made by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit in Western Visayas with ICPO units (6,314.3032 grams, P42.9M), ICPS 10 (2,193.2306 grams, P14.9M), ICPS 2 (1,530.0948 grams, P10.4M), and ICPS 9 (1,474.0952 grams, P10M).
Community Cooperation Credited for Success
Police Colonel Kim Legada, director of the Iloilo City Police Office, commended all units for their sustained and relentless operations. He emphasized that the accomplishments were not achieved by the police force alone. Legada attributed the success to the strong support and cooperation of the community.
"These accomplishments reflect not only the dedication of our police force but also the strong support of our community," Legada stated. "Your cooperation strengthens our efforts and helps us protect our youth and safeguard our city. Padayon kita." He reiterated that the fight against illegal drugs remains a collective mission requiring continued unity.
The report, presented in early December 2025, underscores ICPO's ongoing commitment to making Iloilo City safer by dismantling drug operations and holding perpetrators accountable, with the invaluable aid of vigilant citizens.
