Janiuay Drug Bust Nets High-Value Suspect, P374K Shabu

Operatives of the Janiuay Municipal Police Station (MPS) arrested a newly identified high-value individual (HVI) during a drug bust in Barangay Damo-ong, Janiuay, Iloilo, on Monday, April 20, 2026, around 5 p.m. The operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 55 grams of shabu valued at PHP 374,000.

Police Commend Public Cooperation

Police Colonel Bayani Razalan, director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), commended the operating team and credited the public for the success of the operation. In his statement, he expressed gratitude to the residents for their trust and for providing information that led to the arrest. He emphasized that the strong campaign against illegal drugs continues throughout the province.

Suspect Identified and Arrested

The arrested suspect, alias Bulag, is a 42-year-old resident of Barangay San Julian, Janiuay, Iloilo. He was apprehended by the Station Drug Enforcement Team of Janiuay MPS, led by Police Captain Randy Lambungan, officer-in-charge. The arrest followed weeks of intelligence monitoring after concerned citizens reported his alleged involvement in illegal drug activities.

Investigation revealed that the suspect sourced illegal drugs from Iloilo City and distributed them in Janiuay. Bulag is currently detained at the custodial facility of Janiuay MPS and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
