Motorcycle Driver Kills Pedestrian in Cebu City

A 30-year-old man died after being hit by a speeding motorcycle early Saturday morning, June 13, 2026, in Barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City. The incident occurred at 3:50 a.m. in front of the Sarrosa Hotel along F. Cabahug Street.

Victim Identified

The victim was identified as Jimmy Lumapac Jaducana, 30, a resident of Barangay Kasambagan.

According to the Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), the motorcycle was traveling from Lahug along F. Cabahug Street. It was driven by McVaughn Morata Polancos, 24, with a passenger, Kaye Fernandez Estremos, 23.

How the Accident Happened

Upon reaching the area, the motorcycle suddenly hit the victim, who was crossing the road from a convenience store. Due to the strong impact, the victim was thrown onto the pavement, sustaining severe head and body injuries.

The motorcycle driver and his passenger were also thrown off the vehicle and suffered bruises.

Emergency Response

Emergency medical personnel immediately rushed the victim to the Cebu City Medical Center, but Dr. Jelo Pateres declared him dead on arrival.

The motorcycle driver is currently in the custody of the TEU and will face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
