PNP Chief Orders Wide Probe into Police Involved in Illegal Activities
PNP Chief Orders Wide Probe into Police Illicit Activities

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. has issued a strict directive for a comprehensive intelligence-monitoring and investigation to identify police officers who act as protectors of illegal gambling and other illicit activities. The order comes after the arrest of a police major involved as a protector of illegal activities in Negros Island.

Arrest and Removal

The arrested police officer has been relieved from his post and placed under restrictive custody as part of an extended investigation into alleged gambling operations. The PNP chief emphasized that such officers are like termites destroying the reputation of the PNP.

Nartatez stressed that the organization will not tolerate any personnel engaging in or protecting illegal activities. He called for a thorough and relentless investigation to ensure that all involved are held accountable.
