The Philippine National Police (PNP) has confiscated firearms owned by Senator Ronald 'Bato' dela Rosa, who is facing an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Confiscation Details
According to the PNP's Civil Security Group (CSG), the seizure took place on June 11, 2026, at a property linked to Dela Rosa in Davao City. At least 20 firearms were surrendered.
The inventory process included verification of serial numbers, recording, and physical inspection of the weapons to ensure their safe storage.
"A total of 20 firearms were accounted for, properly recorded, and issued with corresponding acknowledgment receipts before being transported to the RCSU 11 office at Camp Sgt. Quintin M. Merecido, Buhangin, Davao City, where they are now under official custody for safekeeping in accordance with PNP rules and procedures," the CSG stated.
PNP Chief's Statement
PNP Chief General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the operation demonstrates the organization's serious commitment to the legal, orderly, and respectful enforcement of rules.
"What is important is that the implementation of the law is clear and orderly, with respect for the process and engagement with all parties. This underscores our continuing effort to ensure that enforcement is carried out with professionalism, transparency, and due regard for proper procedures," Nartatez said.
License Revocation
The PNP-Firearms and Explosives Office (PNP-FEO) earlier ordered the revocation of Dela Rosa's license to own and possess firearms (LTOPF), as well as the registration of his weapons, following developments related to the ICC arrest warrant against him.
According to the order issued by the FEO, there are 117 firearms registered under Dela Rosa's name.
