JTF Agila Boosts Earthquake Relief in Sarangani and Davao

Joint Task Force (JTF) Agila has ramped up its humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) efforts in earthquake-affected areas of Sarangani Province and Davao Occidental, collaborating with local government units, national agencies, and civilian volunteers to ensure aid reaches displaced families promptly.

Relief Operations Intensify

On June 13, military personnel assisted in unloading 1,000 food packs and 1,584 ready-to-eat meals at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) warehouse in Malita, Davao Occidental. This bolstered relief stocks for communities hit by the recent earthquake.

In Sarangani Province, soldiers provided manpower and security support for hauling, repacking, transporting, and distributing relief goods, including food packs, rice, and potable water. Army personnel worked closely with local responders and partner agencies to ensure safe and efficient delivery of aid.

Mobile Kitchen and Water Purification Deployed

To support ongoing relief, the Philippine Army deployed its Mobile Kitchen and Water Purification System in Glan, Sarangani Province, supplying hot meals and clean drinking water to affected families. This served as a critical resource for communities recovering from the earthquake, complementing broader government and humanitarian operations.

Collaborative Humanitarian Response

The operations highlight strong coordination among the Armed Forces of the Philippines, DSWD, local governments, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, disaster response offices, and civilian volunteers to ensure relief reaches those in need.

Major General Alvin Luzon, Commander of the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division and Joint Task Force Agila, praised the dedication of soldiers and partner agencies on the ground.

“In times of adversity, our soldiers stand ready not only to protect our communities but also to help them recover. Together with our partners, JTF Agila remains committed to bringing timely assistance, hope, and reassurance to every affected family,” Luzon said.
