Police Ready for Major Demonstrations on Bonifacio Day

The Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) has declared its full readiness to secure the Trillion Peso March 2.0, a regionwide public demonstration scheduled for November 30, 2025. This date holds dual significance, as it also marks the 162nd birth anniversary of Gat Andres Bonifacio, a national hero whose day is often associated with civic actions.

Comprehensive Security Plan Activated

On Monday, November 27, 2025, Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, the regional director of PRO 6, issued directives for a massive security deployment. He has ordered all provincial, city, and municipal police offices to commit maximum personnel to key locations.

These include:

  • Planned rally routes
  • Public assembly areas
  • Government buildings
  • Public plazas and transport terminals

General Ligan emphasized that the police force's primary goal is to maintain peace and order while upholding the constitutional right to peaceful assembly. "PRO 6 is fully prepared to secure the Trillion Peso March 2.0 on November 30. Our focus is to maintain peace and order while respecting the public’s right to assemble and express their views," Ligan stated.

Call for Cooperation and Responsible Exercise of Rights

Authorities are actively encouraging cooperation between rally participants and law enforcement to ensure the event proceeds smoothly. General Ligan connected the occasion to the values of the national hero, saying, "We ask everyone to cooperate with authorities. Let us uphold the spirit of Bonifacio Day by exercising our rights responsibly and promoting a peaceful and respectful environment for all."

To manage the day-long activities, PRO 6 has activated a detailed, regionwide security strategy. This plan involves a coordinated effort from multiple units, including:

  • Civil Disturbance Management teams
  • Mobile force companies
  • Intelligence and monitoring operatives
  • Anti-crime units and traffic enforcement groups

The police command has also engaged in advanced coordination with local government units, rally organizers, volunteers, and other law enforcement agencies. This collaboration aims to prevent disruptions and manage crowd movements effectively. As a final reminder, participants are urged to remain disciplined and avoid bringing any prohibited items to the demonstrations.
