A 32-year-old man, known as a 'bad boy,' was arrested and jailed after police seized firearms during a raid at his residence on Saturday morning, June 13, 2026, in Sitio Cambangyao, Barangay Poblacion, Dalaguete town.
The suspect was identified as Gaudioso Lajos Niere Jr., also known as 'Blacky,' who is single.
Niere faces charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Police Major Vincent Zozobrado, chief of the Dalaguete Police Station, told SunStar SuperBalita Cebu that several neighbors had complained against alias Blacky because he frequently carried and displayed his firearm.
Acting on these reports, police promptly secured a search warrant issued by Judge May Faith L. Trumata-Rebotia of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 94 in Argao town, dated June 5, 2026.
During the raid conducted at 10:00 a.m., Niere failed to present any legal documents authorizing him to possess firearms.
Authorities recovered from the suspect's possession a Colt Caliber .45 Pistol with one magazine and eight live ammunition rounds, and a caliber .38 revolver with three live ammunition rounds.
